Since 1978 our company has been the comfortable solution for the heating and air conditioning needs of the residents of Anderson and Knox counties. Our family has deep roots in the Anderson County community. Scott Melton is from Andersonville and is a graduate of Norris High School. After high school Scott became a construction electrician and in 1975 became an electrician at the K-25 DOE plant in Oak Ridge. At the same time Scott began selling electrical supplies on the side to local electricians. Then in 1978 at the request of a friend he installed his first heating and air conditioning systems and the rest they say, is history. In 1985 Scott left K-25 and went full time into the heating and air conditioning business.
News of the newly formed Melton Heating & Air Conditioning quickly spread and has become the company that still bears the family name today. Tim Melton, Scott’s son, says he “was hatched here.” He is a 1982 graduate of Clinton High School and served six years in the U.S. Air Force. Tim joined his father in 1989 to help with the ever-expanding business of Melton Heating and Air Conditioning.
When Scott retired, Tim took the reins of the company and has continued to build the company’s reputation for delivering comfortable solutions. Our company services most brands of heating and air conditioning equipment. In addition, we install super efficient Trane and Mitsubishi systems. As a member of Mitsubishi’s Diamond Dealer network, our primary focus is to always provide the highest quality of services and installations, combined with the best products in the industry. Our company is a state licensed and insured contractor offering residential and light commercial installations, preventative maintenance programs, and prompt, professional repair services. And yes, we do provide fast, efficient service when you need it and our installations meet and/or exceed current codes and industry standards. Our employees are highly skilled as NATE-certified technicians, knowledgeable consultants, and customer service professionals.
